Traveling by Bus or Train

Free District Bus Transportation
The New York State Law provides free district bus transportation to students living in TOWNS and VILLAGES that are within a fifteen-mile radius of a school. This includes students who attend private/parochial schools.

Information as to whether you qualify for this free bus transportation can be obtained from your local Board of Education. Please note that applications for such transportation are asked to be filled out by APRIL 1 at your local Board of Education. In some circumstances they can be accepted at any time.

Students living in CITIES, e.g. Yonkers, White Plains, Mount Vernon, New Rochelle or the Bronx, do not qualify for free bus transportation and must therefore, provide their own means of transportation to and from the school.

Public Bus Transportation - http://beelinebus.westchestergov.com/
A public service bus (Bee-Line #6) is used by some of our students who travel in either from White Plains or from Yonkers. Students from New Rochelle can connect with this bus in White Plains. The bus discharges the students a very short distance from the school at the junction of Routes 100A and 100B (one block from the school).

During peak traveling hours in the morning and late afternoon, students may take the #20 down Central Park Ave. and transfer at Route 100A (West Hartsdale Ave.), taking #34 to Maria Regina (it stops in front of the school) or take the #20 to Westchester County Center (Rte. 119) and transfer to #6 (getting off at Shell on Dobbs Ferry Rd).

The Bee-Line System provides a SCHOOL SPECIAL for Maria Regina students on a pay as you go basis. The SCHOOL SPECIAL begins in Getty Square, goes straight up North Broadway, making many stops before turning down Executive Boulevard. It continues for a pick up at Homefield before continuing north on 9A, directly to Maria Regina. It makes the return trip after school. For further information call Bee-Line at (914) 969-4287.

The Bee-Line #1 & #32 beginning at 242nd Street and Van Cortlandt Park Avenue, come down South Broadway in Yonkers to Getty Square and #8 on Riverdale Avenue at Mt. St. Vincent also goes to Getty Square. Students from these buses can transfer in Getty Square to the SCHOOL SPECIAL or the #6.

Chartered Bus Transportation
Chartered Bus Transportation, for students residing in the Yonkers, the Bronx, City Island, New Rochelle and Mount Vernon, is provided by Service Bus Company. The telephone number is (914) 423-3200. Contracts for services are available to parents. Each year the routes and “pick-up stops” change in accordance with the families who contract.

Students can take the Metro North train to the Hartsdale Station and then take the #34 bus. Students can also get off the Metro North train at the White Plains Station and take the #6 bus. At dismissal there is a SCHOOL SPECIAL Bee-Line bus that picks the students up on the school campus and brings them directly to the White Plains Metro North Station.
